Saizeriya Italian Restaurant

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Bell and I had dinner at Saizeriya Italian Restaurant which was located at B2 of City Square Mall. Bell had eaten at the Saizeriya outlet at Liang Court and said the food is cheap and good.

We ordered 4 dishes to share. We had escargots, pizza, seafood gratin and sausages. The food was quite decent. Although the servings were rather small, each dish was pretty cheap and in total dinner cost $30 after taxes.

Aerin’s and Cedele

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

After watching Merchants of Bollywood, Bell and I went for dinner at Raffles City. There were a couple of new restaurants in the basement. I was most interested in The Hand Burger but Bell wasn’t keen on eating burgers. So we went back to an old favourite – Aerin’s.

The menu had changed a bit, some dishes were gone and there were some new dishes. Both of us ate pasta because we felt that the best dish at Aerin’s was the pasta.

Aerin's Tagliatelle

I ate Aerin’s signature dish – Aerin’s Tagliatelle which contained a generous amount of smoked salmon, salmon roe and mushrooms. The sauce was thick, sticky and creamy. I enjoyed it and cleaned up my plate. I think the amount is just right as I was feeling a bit tired of the creamy sauce by the end of the meal.

Peperoni Pizzeria

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

We went to Peperoni Pizzeria again for Bright Eyes’ farewell. Even though Bright Eyes asked for pot luck, most of us are less than competent cooks so we decided to save the rest the agony and got out to some place nice for lunch instead. We went back to Peperoni Pizzeria because Bright Eyes liked the pizzas. We had fun even though Bright Eyes looked a bit tired nowadays.

Peperoni Pizzeria

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

To celebrate Bright Eyes’ and my birthday, Mao Mao suggested going to Peperoni Pizzeria for lunch. Of course there were other options but they were all pretty accessible while Peperoni Pizzeria is quite inconvenient for people who don’t have cars. Since the whole gang will be going for lunch, it meant that we have 2 cars available so might as well make use of them. Besides, it’s a double birthday, so it should be special. We went in 2 cars to Greenwood Avenue which is a quiet area with a row of restaurants serving delicious and sometimes expensive food.

Peperoni Pizzeria is a cheery restaurant with walls filled with pictures drawn by previous customers. Each table was covered with coloured paper which as served as tablecloths. There was a cup filled with crayons so that people could draw on the paper. I liked the casual atmosphere of the restaurant. As Mao Mao had been to the restaurant before, we let her do the ordering. It was a good meal and I enjoyed myself.

Being our birthday treat, Bright Eyes and I were forbidden to see the bill. It didn’t stopped us from trying though. As the waitress was standing next to us, we would try to crane our necks to get a peep. Until the waitress realised what we were trying to do and quickly held the bill away from our reach. Later on I found out that Peperoni Pizzeria posted the menu online, completed with prices. Bless the internet.
