I saw a tea stall at B2 of City Square Mall. It was called Gong Cha. It was a brand from Taiwan but I’ve not heard of it before. I decided to give it a try.
I bought the signature drink called 奶盖红茶 which cost $2.40. It’s also available in green tea and oolong tea flavours. You can also choose your level of sweetness, from 100% (normal) to 0%. Above is what the tea looks like, capped with a layer of thick, frothy milk that tasted a bit like carnation milk but looks much whiter.

On the cap was a sticker with instructions on how to drink the signature tea. There are 3 ways:
- Open the cap and take a mouthful of the tea and milk, let the fragrance of the tea and milk tantalize your taste buds.
- Use the straw to drink only the tea so you get the original taste of the tea.
- Mix the tea and milk to get a different combination of tastes.

I didn’t bother with the steps. The staff have scotchtaped the lid so that I would not spill the drink and I’m too lazy to remove it. I mixed the tea and milk together and found both the milk and tea to be fragrant and flavourful.

Next to the tea stall was the Hokkaido Fish Market stall. I bought a tray of salmon sushi which looked like the hana sushi sold at Sakae Sushi. It is a red plate item at Sakae Sushi, costing around $6. Buying it from the stall cost $5.80. I found the portions to be quite alright and the fish is nice and thick. It’s been a long time since I last ate at Sakae Sushi so I don’t know for sure whether the portions are more but it looked bigger to me. Unlike Sakae Sushi, Hokkaido Fish Market mixes the rice with prawn roe.
