Baking the English muffin (part 1)

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

I felt like eating English muffins. Since they were hard to find, I decided to try and bake some because I really, really wanted to eat some English muffins. I found a recipe on the internet and followed the instructions. It was a failure as the buns turned out too hard. I don’t think I made a mistake as I followed the instructions closely. So next weekend I will try another recipe which I also found on the internet.

Ben 10: Alien Force

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I managed to catch the 1st episode of Ben 10: Alien Force on Okto at 7:30pm. Ben is older now, more matured and less irritating. He also has a new set of aliens to turn into. I missed the big, red brute called Fourarms but I thought 1 of the new aliens, Swampfire, is quite cool. It’s not as funny as Teen Titans but it is interesting and more exciting than the spiderman cartoon. So I will be watching it again.

Lunch at Food Republic

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Mr Swee, Pooh Bear and I met One Red for lunch at Vivocity’s Food Republic. One Red was back for a short visit of 2 weeks. He asked me a few weeks earlier to arrange for a lunch at Vivocity with Pooh Bear so I told Pooh Bear about it. When she mentioned it to him, he blamed me for spoiling the surprise but the stupid guy forgot to tell me that it was supposed to be a surprise. Anyway, subsequently when Pooh Bear tried to ask him where and when to meet him, he pretended that he was still overseas. Funny but irritating at the same time.

Eventually we did meet him for lunch. He was quite happy and kept telling us that pound had fallen. When we commented that it was quite expensive to fly back for just 2 weeks, One Red happily replied that pound had fallen so the ticket only cost S$800. I can’t remember if it was the price for one-way or two-way. Our conclusion was that One Red is rich.

One Red also passed me the dvd I had asked him to get for me. It was a 1995 BBC documentary by David Attenborough. I felt like watching it again and One Red was kind enough to help me get it. I felt a bit paiseh about troubling him so I limited myself to 1 documentary even though I wanted more. But Pooh Bear said that it’s payment for all the times he irritated us so I shouldn’t feel bad about it. I was excited about getting the dvd as David Attenborough is my favourite documentary host. When Pooh Bear asked me what was the documentary about, I replied, “Plant sex.” Pooh Bear’s eyes opened wide. “Really?” she asked. One Red then added that Pooh Bear will be interested in it. Pooh Bear glared at him.

The dvd I bought was 1 of many that formed David Attenborough’s Life Series. It was a 1995 documentary called The Private Life of Plants. It had 6 episodes and was 292 mins long. I got it for £8 and as pound had fallen, it now cost me $16 instead of $24. Ha ha, I’m happy.

2nd viewing of the Spiderman cartoon

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

I tried watching The Spectacular Spider-Man again. My fingers kept tapping the sofa armrest impatiently, waiting for something exciting to happen. Unfortunately it did not happen before I got bored and switched to another channel. I really do not like the cartoon and will not be watching it again.

Blog of 默默

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Sayang told me that she found 默默’s blog. It’s a blog written by 默默 from 《爱就宅一起》. I was amazed as I never even thought of it. When I asked Sayang how did she find out, she replied, “It’s because you’re not experienced enough.”

As the show progresses, the blog will be updated with entries that relate back to what happened in the show. Sometimes 默默 also replied to comments left by the viewers of the show. Everybody pretended that 默默 is a real person. So cute.

The Spectacular Spider-Man

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Tried watching The Spectacular Spider-Man which replaced Teen Titans on okto. Do not like it. Do not like the drawing style. Do not like the characters’ dead fish eyes. Do not like their ugly noses. Was bored after 5 mins into the cartoon and changed the channel. But it’s the 1st episode so maybe it will get better? I will give it 1 more chance before I draw my own conclusion on the cartoon.

Last episode of Teen Titans

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Today was the last episode of Teen Titans on Okto channel. I will miss it. It had became a regular programme that I would watch every weekday. Raven is my favourite character in the cartoon so I’m glad that it ended with her story.

《爱就宅一起》

《爱就宅一起》

I recently finished watching episode 5 of 《爱就宅一起》 and the more I watched, the more I liked the show. The story started slow. It wasn’t as light-hearted or as funny as the trailers showed it to be. There were some funny parts but there were also some serious parts. I also felt the main actors were not as good-looking as they could be. After a few episodes I got used to them.

It got more interesting after the main characters got to know each other. They did not like each other at first and bickered a lot. It was amusing to see them quarrel as they are like the opposite extremes in personality. But slowly, unconsciously, they started to understand each other and even come to rely on each other. In episode 5, they have started to like each other a little but are both still strongly denying it.
